Leo Baur is cardioloog en opgeleid in Maastricht. Na zijn opleiding heeft hij 12 jaar als cardioloog gewerkt in het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum. Daar is hij gepromoveerd op het proefschrift: "From therapy to Prevention".

Hierna heeft hij gedurende 15 jaar als cardioloog en opleider gewerkt in Zuyderland ziekenhuis. In die periode was hij gedurende 8 jaar voorzitter van het KNMG Districtsbestuur. Tenslotte heeft hij nog gewerkt in Hasselt en Den Haag.

Sinds 4,5 jaar werkt hij met veel plezier bij Cardiologie Centra Nederland.
